The BBC showed this film in the wee hours of New Year's Day, and I was able to see it for the first time. A very impressive movie, the best horror anthology I've seen. And unlike many British horror films of the era, it succeeds in being quite frightening in places (mostly through those unexpected "pop 'n' boo" moments)!
Who'd have known blind people to be so devious? Or that Peter Cushing would wear such suffocatingly thick corpse makeup? Or that Sir Ralph Richardson would film all his scenes in one day? Remarkable.
Fox have recently announced plans to release this on DVD in Region 2, so a Region 1 disc is probably pending as well. Buy 'em up!
By the way, where is the incredibly atmospheric cemetery we see at the start of the film? Possibly the ancient Victorian one in London near Camden Market (the name of which escapes me)? If anyone has any details, I'll be very grateful.
