Actually I think I read somewhere that the Thor Helmet has been confirmed, but that the character will only wear it in certain scenes kind of like Magneto in X-Men.

Those aliens were supposed to be "Ultimate" versions of the Skrulls. The word Skrull is even mentioned in passing in the comic as one of the names the race goes by in another part of the universe. Though frankly their need to devour the people whose shapes they take is more like the Dire Wraiths, a race of aliens who are identified as evolutionary cousins of the Skrulls in the Marvel Universe proper.

The Avengers arch enemy is Kang the Conquerer. There's an argument in continuity that Ultron fits that spot, but if you look, Ultron's primary grudge is against Hank Pym more than the Avengers themselves. Kang is often dismissed, a lot like the JLA's archenemy Despero, but if you look at comics continuity, Kang is the only real choice. He fits all the criteria of the archenemy mold and honestly he's the most powerful adversary they have. I mean, he's got a hundred armies from a hundred different worlds that he's conquered, he's a master of robotics, time travel, and super science, AND he's the greatest warrior of his time, ever bit the fighter that Captain America is.

I will say however, for the first film, I think they would do better do organize a Masters of Evil team. Think about it, at the of THE INCREDIBLE HULK the Abomination was still alive and the emergence of the Leader was hinted at. Plus, Loki has been confirmed for the film and Justin Hammer could easily resurface to help construct Titanium Man, and whose to say the Red Skull has to die at the end of Captain America? Throw in a couple of other familiar badies like Enchantress and the Executioner, Whirlwind to counter Ant-Man and just for fun the Absorbing Man and you'd a receipe for one of the best hero vs villian battles in the history of film!

Of course it'll never happen, but hey, a guy can dream, can't he?
