No, it's Warner Bros. now (from MGM to MGM/UA to Turner to Time-Warner to Warner Bros.) Warner Bros. execs said in their last chat on the Home Theater Forum site that both HOUSE and NIGHT would most likely be released sometime in 2007. Hopefully we'll get more definite details and a release date in the upcoming 2/26 chat.

Darren Gross has done a ton of work,in trying to get the missing 35 (!) minutes back into that film, with the blessing of Dan Curtis. I think they may have had some dubbing sessions with remaining cast members as well, but I'm not positive. I'm going to try and be there for the chat, as it's always a fun event.

The stickler here is actually MGM, who wasn't willing to pony up when it came to financing the restoration. At least, that's what I was told by David Selby himself. Rod

Also, those would be the two sources Warners would likely contact first if looking for better quality elements. From what I've heard, it's not certain that we'll see the extended version of NIGHT OF DARK SHADOWS. Cross your fingers, hope for the best, and write letters to Warner Bros.

It is a good thing I did it when I did, too, as my DVD burner went on the fritz shortly thereafter and hasn't been worth a crap since. Altho for some reason it still burns CD's. I made a menu for it and everything. Once I got the hang of my burner softwhere, and discovered I could add posters and stills and things like that, I tried to make another copy, which is when I stumbled on my DVD Burner Crap-o situation. :-( Really looking forward to this coming to dvd. And hope it is complete. I say that because somewhere in the recesses of my brain I seem to recall Barnabus' discovery by Willie being more dramatic than what is on the VHS. Maybe I'm planting supplimental images from the TV show into the movie, but man..I could swear it was more gruesome than what I currently have. At any rate, I love the series and movies, and look forward to seeing Night as well. This time, hopefully, the way Curtis intended.

Myself and my co-producer are working intensely with them to try to get the director's cut restored for the release and are also pushing for some extras. Given the lead time needed, we only have a couple months left to turn it around should the tides change. It could be done, though as 70% of the relooping has been completed. (I've also let the image archive department borrow the superior style B poster and a slew of stills which they did not have, so hopefully the jacket will make use of the better poster image and the more tantalizing stills. The style A poster is kind of a mess. And we've offered to let them borrow a 35mm copy of the 1min theatrical teaser trailer which they don't. ) The bottom line though is we need a TV channel or two to come across with funding or it's not going to happen. We're hoping a cable or satellite channel will come to the rescue. What this project needs is a friend and supporter in the right position at the right company. It needs it badly and it needs it now... "

Mar 3 07 8:20 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	another one of those times i wish i was rolling in cash. do you think it would be okay to copy and paste that post on some other boards i frequent? as for the willie discovering barnabus scene, i seem to recall barnabus rising out of the coffin with this wickedly intense look on his face, while grabbing willie around the neck. in my vhs version, there is just willie finding the tomb and barnabus hand grabbing him, then a quick cut to another scene. like i said, i may be putting that in there from the tv show, or from my more youthful imagination.

All that's seen is a hand and arm dressed in 18th century garb. I know, becauwse I remember reading in several fan newsletters that DS regular Timothy Gordon (who also played Jeremiah's ghost) subbed for Frid's hand. The first time Frid is seen as Barnabas is when he turns around in front of the Barnabas portrait in Collinwood. There may have been a redux of the resurrection scene somewhere else in the show where we actually did see Frid rise up--but that didn't happen the first time around. Ah, memory! Rod

Mar 4 07 1:50 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	you know someone posted earlier when they saw the film, people in the theater shouted "Julia" when Grayson Hall appeared, I had a similar experience, when Thayer David was turned into a vampire and attacked Roger Davis, people screamed out "Eliot!"...hey we were fans of the show and stayed with it no matter how far out the ideas became..Twin earths, time travel, Lovecraftian creatures...
