May 25 12 10:08 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	We just returned from seeing this in the theater and while I did enjoy the movie, it was a bit of a disappointment for me. The movie had some good chuckles and Josh Brolin is spot on as Tommy Lee Jones and a riot, but the movie just does not have as many laughs as the first...or second. It does have a lot more heart and soul and I liked the way they expanded the relationship between J & K, but my biggest problem was the aliens (or lack there of). Most of the aliens are in the background or appear just as extras and have very little screen time. You don't get to fully enjoy Rick Baker's hard work on his creations because most of his aliens are on for a split second or out of focus as the camera zooms in on our stars. It also did not feel like a summer blockbuster. The movie kind of just ambles along and there are no real standout actions scenes other than the beginning and the end. I did like the way they wrapped up the series as I did not see the direction the writers were heading, plus the tone shift kind of felt out of place for a Men in Black movie. It's more of a mature Men in Black movie. I'll be surprised if this becomes a big blockbuster for Sony as we attended the 8:00 show on a Friday night and there were maybe 50 people in a auditorium that holds about 600. Plus many of the kids in the audience didn't seem to quite know the characters very well since the last movie was 10 years ago, and those who did may comments that they thought the other 2 were better and had more action and aliens. May 27 12 2:45 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Saw this last night, and the mixed feelings written about earlier in this thread are true. The picture ends on a good emotional note, but to get there is a pretty conventional journey. All the fun...weirdness in the first film has been taken out, and what is left is a sometimes funny film with a good but not logical ending. A big step down from the original.
