Didn't see a thread already posted here, so I hope I'm not recrossing old paths.
I know George Pal purchased the rights to the Doc Savage stories, in hopes of launching a series of cinematic adventures. Unfortunately, Pal's original vision was mudied by the studio, who decided on a more light-hearted approach than the producer wanted. Does anyone know how early into production the project was altered? With today's filmmaking technology, it would be great to see something done with the character...although given some of the curious casting we've seen in films, I'd be curious who they would get.
