Slow-moving and uneventful old dark house fare. A scant 60 minutes long, with only a brief shock or two. Nothing too exciting. This obscure title was recently dug up by Fox and was released with a sharp, pristine b&w print in its original Cinemascope ratio. This forgetable film benefits from a few creepy interiors, extensive hallways with wood floors, innumerable empty rooms, etc. The cast is relaxed and somewhat engaging. Richard Kiel appears in one of his early roles doing his silent menacing schtick, though is used not neaerly as effectively and imaginatively as in the "Thriller" episode "Well of Doom," available over on the TV Terrors thread. The denoument is predictable and tame. The title promises much and delivers nothing.
Worth a look if you have an hour to kill.
