The original submission to the BBFC in 1968 has the film at 87min. The US DVD (which is under the title The Blood Beast Terror) and the UK DVD (which is an inferior print under the US title The Vampire Beast Craves Blood) are both 80min - allowing for PAL speedup on the latter. In-depth reviews I've read match these prints. Is the BBFC listing a typo or perhaps they were sent a longer cut or are the DVDs cut - perhaps for US cinema release.
On another note, there is a still in Dennis Gifford's book A Pictoral History Of Horror Movies which puports to be from this film and whilst it does show a moth like creature, it doesn't look like anything from the film - and no, it doesn't appear to be Mothra! Is this a test still or a cut scene or just a clear closeup of the wretched creature in broad daylight?
Oh, and where did Peter Cushing say this was his worst film. I'd love to hear his reasons - though the film is rather obvious. And anyway, The Uncanny was a LOT worse!
