Well, you see, it actually is Chaney as Groton in a frame blow-up from D vs F, but I've cleverly dropped a Frankenstein headpiece onto his real head via Photoshop and added a black coat, to illustrate a hypothetical if absurd image of Chaney portraying the Frankenstein Monster at this stage in his life. Note the title, "Alternate Al Adamson World." It's not a real photo, actually, I just made it up. Kind of a joke. Only, apparently, not very funny. I'll go to my room now.

Jul 11 05 4:46 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Just wanted to add an odd story here, about three years ago I purchased a video tape of Day of the Triffids and when I popped it in it was actually Dracula Vs Frankenstein. When I told the owner of the store were I bought the tape he offered to buy it back but I couldn't bring myself to part with the retched thing. It is so bizzarrelly awful I can not pull my eyes of of the the screen while playing it. I remember seeing this film on TV during the 70's and taking it seriously, thinking that the film had some genuine artistic merit as a kid, I thought that the carny setting was very creepy at the time, now it just seems strange allongside all the other elements randomly thrown in to make it. I remember reading about Adamson's murder but had no idea that he was responsible for this gem. Thanks all for giving me more pieces of this cinematic puzzle. The dead shall not rise up against you

Jul 11 05 3:54 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I saw this once on late night TV in 2nd or 3rd grade, and the overwhelming, cheap sleazyness and the morbid sight of Chaney on his last legs did make it an oddly spooky and dark viewing expierence. I'd love to see it again "NO BEDS!"

I still remember going to the movies way back in 1971 and watching this on a double bill with BLOOD OF DRACULA'S CASTLE. Even at the age of ten, I felt this was a pretty inept film, BUT . . . the scenes at the church are surprisingly creepy! The lack of dialog, and the dim lighting, and grainy 16mm photography just gets to me every time. And when Zandor Vorkov starts rolling his eyes from side-to-side, great stuff! Having already said that I was ten at the time,I was accustomed to watching monster movies play themselves out to the same tried-and-true conclusion: Monster gets girl, hero rescues girl, monster gets killed, the end. (SPOILER) So, when Zandor Vorkov fries Anthony Eisley, my jaw just dropped! Talk about warping my delicate childhood psyche!

And i read,in the Outer Limits Companion,the Mr Lorre,was signed to be in Shape,of things unknown,but passed on. Then Joseph Schildkraut,who was so touching,in the Twilight Zone Episode,where he haunts,the Commandant,of a Concentration Camp was signed.He passed on. Then Sir Cedric Hardwarke shows up,suffering from respitory problems,and with oxygen. But he was a trooper,and did an excellent job. Mr Lorre,would have been excellent. As he was,with given goos material.They wanted him,for Odo,in the Black Sleep,but he was way too much money.

However, if using all caps helps you see your own text better as you write it, I have no problem with it. Legend, oh legend, the third wheel legend...always in the way.

And this fim,is very hard,to watch,to see Lon Chaney,in such a horrible condition bloated,and very ill is very painful. I have a kidney condition,and have had problems,like that so maybe I can realte, a bit better. Its a same,that the Movie Business has no place,for older actors.

Sad that CGI "perfection" has replaced latex,spirit gum and inventiveness of days gone by. Most everybody on here would understand what I mean, but it saddens me to no end that I know most movies made today, although technically superior, are JUST NO FUN. Al Adamson feeding the cast with nothing but KFC for 2 weeks...I wish he had made more pure "horror" flicks than he did, all of them are so rich in feeling.

Too much of a good thing, I imagine can be bad for you. Now its KMWC. Kentucky Micro Waved Chicken. They dont trust the employees with Deep Fryers.

Nov 28 05 8:04 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	This movie smacks of being something that a bunch of school kids put together with Daddy's GAF super8 movie camera. That is not to say that I don't enjoy it. Regina Carroll's opening dance number has got to be seen to be believed! My wife, who has suffered through some of the most amateur, boring, grade Z trash (Beast of Yucca Flats anyone?), fell asleep after the dance number. The alternate ending, "Sclock" documentary and Forry's deleted scene make the DVD worth the 10 bucks.
