If these titles succeed, maybe Synapse will make a deal with MGM to release more titles from their library especially the rest of the AIP titles that have yet to be released.

Jameson281 wrote:Probably Carlton, which I believe are the current owners. MGM still has TV and some other rights.

We showed some transfer footage to a lucky few at Horrorhound Weekend (and some "Halloween" outtake footage, too, I might add) and we've got interviews with Joe Dante and Ted Newsom for the discs so far. All are new anamorphic 1.66:1 HD transfers and we may also release them on Blu-ray. We also have some trailers and TV spots for them as well. The VAMPIRE CIRCUS and TWINS OF EVIL transfers came from MGM and are actually better looking than their HD broadcast versions. HANDS OF THE RIPPER should be complete soon with digital restoration. We hope to release at least one of them for Halloween.

Can't say that I share the intense love around here for TWINS OF EVIL (to me, those identical sisters are no match for the mind-boggling pair of Ingrid Pitt & Maddy Smith in VAMPIRE LOVERS), but TWIN's a pretty good Hammer, while HANDS OF THE RIPPER and VAMPIRE CIRCUS are truly terrific. Bring 'em on!
