Does MGM own it lock stock and barrel? Really looking forward to VAMPIRE CIRCUS - the last time I saw it was as an 'after-hours' showing on movie night at my local Boys' Club back in the late '70s. No idea where the (16mm) print came from, but I never forgot it.

Personally, I don't think ANY of the 3 Hammer Carmilla pictures are classics by any stretch, but I do think TWINS is the most re-watchable of the trilogy. I get the feeling everyone involved realised it was ludricous, gimmicky junk, but then pulled out all the stops and let 'er rip anyway! As for VAMPIRE LOVERS, yes, Maddy Smith is a stunner, but Ingrid doesn't do much for me (and she's frankly miscast). Factor in Baker's lumpen by-the-numbers direction, the over-bright photography, cheap-ish looking sets, and the repetitive nature of the narrative -- LOVERS is mildly enjoyable, but just kinda lays there. To pinch your own term, "pretty good Hammer", but not a movie I re-watch very often. But we can debate this further in the Hammer folder if you like. Now, back to discussing double-dipping, uncut or not, BluRay vs. DVD, and all that other fun stuff...
