It deserves a bump, and I believe this film still packs a punch to the gut, even after nearly 35 years.

The end is a nice ride, but doesn't have the impact for me of that first 30 mins. If you dissect it about 75% of the film takes place in small locations with less than 10 actors, mostly 5 or less. The sprawling mall stuff makes it look like a huge film, it's like a big name actor who is on the film for a few days, but his scenes are interspersed all throughout the film.

Halfway through, he obviously loses his fastball, and never regains it for the rest of his career.Once the motorcycle gang makes an appearance, we're in full self-parody territory. And as far as horror sequels go, it's a far cry from Aliens.I think ALIENS is a stupid jock fest.I consider it an action film and not a Horror film. What made ALIEN so great was the suspense. Not only did it have a great ship to hide in and could be anywhere but it kept changing and we saw LITTLE of it.Now I know both DAWN and ALIENS are kinda similar in that the Directors are trying to up the anti, but DAWN will always have it's place as one of the first over-the-top gore films and is a much more intelligent film..

You are clearly not just pointing out the film subtext, but applying it where you see fit. It wouldn't be any more fair to start a thread on Bob Hope's politics and in the midst of describing his republican views, add a "Obama is an idiot" comment. Yeah those two views may be in line with many republicans, but there is a dividing line there. I am adding my own current political touch. Let it be known that I fully understand there are horrible things on both sides of the aisle, but we choose to not discuss either side, here. Come on, man.

You really don't like this film very much, do you? There was a massive amount of extras in this film compared to NOTD. Massive. Some of them had better make up than others, to be sure, but it's pretty hyperbolic to say that NOTD had better make-up, because it really didn't.
