Ray was pals with the Halls and worked on the crew of EEGAH!, or something like that, right?Maybe Harpo was wearing a wig when he rode out to see those guys...? As the toupee industry can attest, bald guys are sometimes self-conscious...

Krick Wurkheiser wrote:"Eegah!" is probably my favourite film in this vein. Arch Hall Jr, while acting terribly, has such a striking persona (face, hair, line delivery) that it's difficult not to enjoy him (caveat: I thought Arch was chillingly convincing in "The Sadist"). Marilyn Manning (again seen to much better effect in "The Sadist"), while also acting woefully, doesn't get on my nerves and is highly amusing as well as being quite easy on the eyes. Arch Hall Sr is delightful, especially when you consider he wrote this role for himself (!) - I love how he puts each job he did under a different name. I also just like the "caveman" genre somewhat, and all the atmospheric filming locations (including the Arch Sr's hedge where the title cards were shot), and the surf and cheesy pop music. And the dialogue. And the film's backstory. And the Dune Buggy. This film just makes me happy. Also, Richard Kiel is the bee's knees. I thought he was sort of a pretty attractive caveman as well (incidentally, the gelled hair didn't quite ring true)... WATCH OUT FOR SNAKES! (actually, "Watch out for 'The nasty rabbit' " would be a better warning, holy Hell I couldn't stand that film)
