I'm not saying it is old Carmine Nigro, but the movements don't quite fit with Kong's others in the film. Do you know the extremely long shot that I mean? I know it is a long distance off, but the proportions of the legs and arms do seem off from what the Kong models in the rest of the movie looked like. And the movements look more like a guy in a suit aping for the camera than O'Brien's usual animation style. I've wondered about this for some time and this topic seemed as good a place as any to bring it up.

You know, I've seen KING KONG on the big theatre screen in 35mm many times -- and, though this will sound like heresy, that shot always looked to me like a guy in a suit, too. Then the Buzz Gibson photo turned up, and showed that I was wrong. But to be honest, that shot still doesn't look like stop-motion to me. Is it possible Buzz animated the scene but it wasn't used and they opted for a guy in a suit instead? It's not an illogical or unreasonable possibility. The film did, after all, incorporate other techniques when called for, like the big mechanical bust and hand. Why don't we ask Buzz himself? I mean, he posts regularly on this Board, so ...Oh. Never mind.
