At this point, don't even know if that is true but it's a helluva story! And there is another Hitch film in the works about the Making of Psycho with Scarlett Johannson playing Janet Leigh.

Sep 20 12 6:03 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Last night my girl and I saw THE BIRDS at the theater hosted by Universal Fathom Events. It has been a good number of years since I last saw the film, and I really had a great time! The audience attendance was good, and different ages. I heard a person chuckle now and then, but overall the movie worked well -- and during the end sequences you could hear a pin drop, they were so riveted to what was happening. Once again I was reminded of when movies were truly movies and how a master filmmaker like Hitchcock knew how to scare you, keep you in suspense, and tense. Even though I'd seen this movie before I remained tense and fearful. I've always felt that the death scene for Suzanne Pleshette was extremely moving. Here again I felt myself well up with tears like I was gonna let loose a little cry. Which is what happens when an artist like Hitch takes time to help you know a character and you care about her. Just a brilliant scene, and maybe my favorite of the film. And one last thing -- as my girlfriend remarked after the experience was finished -- "babe, you have a nice 55" TV at home, but going to the theater to see a movie on the big screen with an audience is the ONLY way to see a movie!" "Guy named Squeamy got thrown from the fifth floor. He's deader'n a mackerel."

Oct 4 12 4:13 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	it must have been neat seeing it on the big screen like yrs ago..I too thought her death very sad, but when I was younger the 'attack' of the birds on the kids running, looked all too real 2 me then..great suspense, no doubt.

It isn't really the male character taking charge (like so many people complain about when it comes to these stories), in a way it's just one character trying to spare another one, period.
