Rose was good, as was Catherine Tate's character. We're just into the Matt Smith episodes now and so far, I don't mind him, but I'm not big on Amy. And the wife and I are both really sick of Daleks, and, to a lesser extent, Cybermen. Every time there's a reveal of a Dalek in a show, we both groan... I guess there's no escape, though. I really like Amy Pond (my all time favourite companion), will be a shame when she leaves Apparently the new one Jenna-Louise Coleman will first appear in the Christmas special, seen her in the recent Titanic series and she seems a good choice.

May 26 12 8:14 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Thanks to Netflix I've finally seen all the regular Matt Smith episodes (sans the Christmas specials ). I'm glad I watched them as they were for the most part entertaining and worth my time. For me, it's not Doctor Who (the Doctor I grew to love) in the original sense. I see where it's referred to as NuWho or NewWho... hmm, think I'll call it Doctor Mk II (I'm a big Deep Purple fan). It's good but different. Like Mark Morgan & Hal Lane, I'll accept it on its own merits. Most of the complaints I see posted here by the more critical of you, I do agree with... I'm just not discerning enough to let it keep me from not watching how this franchise continues to evolve. My overall review of Smith's Doctor: Kinetic, frenetic, with a whole bunch of yelling, goofing, and running, running, running. Too much manipulative emotion grubbing and not enough decent story telling. But, I'll still be back for Smith's third series. fwiw - Jay p.s. oh, and yeah...Murray Gold??? I started off really liking him (back with Eccleston) but now can't stand his omnipresnet forte-epic-ness. I love how composers like Paddy Kingsland, Peter Howell, etc. created memorable themes and incidental music. I absolutely love the EARTHSHOCK score. The series never sounded so frightening.
