I think it's just odd that on several of the boards with Doctor Who news, some people are already trashing her because of her looks..give the girl a chance to prove herself first. Also, to those who are complaining that she was chosen as another pretty face, well, if they were casting the role, I doubt that they would hire some morbidly obese 90 year old as they are crying out that the show has no variety of casting. Maybe it isnt cutting-edge, true, but I seem to recall hearing the same flapdoodle since the show came back starting with Billie Piper(she was bashed as being just a pop singer), then Freema Ageyman(she's no Billie Piper, only cast because she was black, blah-blah), then Catherine Tate(a so-so comedic talent, not suited for sci-fi drama, etc..) and most recently, Karen Gillan(a model/actress..cant possibly have the chops to star in something like this..). On and on it goes..it's fandom stuff like this that gets really tiresome at certain points.

Echos of The Brain of Morbius to be sure with House as a disembodied entity(Morbius) The uncle and aunt(Morbius's patchwork body) Cousin Ood(The Mutt from The Mutants) and plenty of Time Lord mythology to keep the interest. The rest of the series was a snoozefest...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz JVH

Mar 22 12 9:19 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	It's been the AMY & RORY SHOW for the past two seasons, that's why I'm looking forward to their departure and the intro of the new companion. Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill are good enough actors, however, the show shouldnt be about them constantly as it has been. This is entirely due to Steven Moffatt..for a guy who wrote some great stories during the Russell T. Davies era, he's sure fumbled the ball during his own so far. I see that the Weeping Angels and Daleks are returning next season as well. At least it should be more exciting than some of the fairy-tale drivel we got this past year.

Mar 23 12 3:06 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm not so sure it was just the Amy/Rory bits that annoyed me as such,maybe it was more the really lack lustre stories! I for one was looking forward to RTD's replacement as I wasn't a great fan of his era but Moffat IS alot worse! He's ruined The Daleks, humanized The Silurians, made The Cybermen an easy foe to defeat and even trivialised them, yet his own enemies, The Silence are SO,SO powerful,taking his ideas from other SF genres! Do we really need all the gay innuendo as well? I mean it is a children's programme! JVH

Mel did have one mystery about her - and, no, not the one about how Bonnie landed the role - that whole rigamarole about how she was traveling with the Doctor before she met him dealie, which they never quite settled even in the novels.) Like the new outfit. At least I can now show my wife a picture of the new companion without her asking why the Doctor is traveling with a stripper. But, really ... Meri Gold?
