I wasnt impressed with this at all Im afraid. I found the treatment meted out to the female lead Andrea pretty distasteful. Not only did the evil Lombardi constantly have her under hypnosis (and threaten to kill her now and again), but the police and hero of the piece Dr Erikson were well aware of this treatment and did nothing about it - they werent too concerned at all (!)
I also found the plot lacked a real explanation of exactly what influence Lombardi had over her. If Andrea was in his power, as it was made out to be, how come she was allowed to go off and fraternise with Dr Erikson so much?
Normally I dont get too hung up on plot issues (proof: I like Robot Monster) but as these points formed the backbone of the storyline I couldnt help but let them spoil my enjoyment.
The monster itself was pretty damn fine, and I wished Id seen it (or rather, her) a lot more throughout the movie. Lombardi was the outstanding thing about the film though, what a great bad-guy face he had! And he gave a pretty menacing performance, without going over the top too much. Anyone know about this actor?
