I understand the intended message (he suffered but survived), but I dont think it's communicated correctly at all. The image tells me that cancer threw the kid a curve ball - he's missing a limb. Also he's holding a bat which implies he's the batter, not the pitcher.

Oct 26 11 4:21 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've brought this up a lot (maybe on this very thread, I don't remember), but one of my favorites when it comes to words is when sexual comedies (and dramas, and non-fiction) use such dry, dry sexual expressions, starting with the phrase "have sex." Once in a while those can be entertaining (remember how Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd's "Wild and Crazy Guys" routine used them?), but with all the COLORFUL expressions in the world, why fall back on those so many times?! You don't have to be a big fan of dirty words OR euphemisms to want to hear those in place of these medical textbook type words.

Funny how some things grate one person (me) It's the "bee in my bonnet" for today LOL I browse some vintage clothing sites. That is where I see it used (or overused) quite a bit. One complete garbage term I heard a few times were people refering to something they liked as "floss". The most overused adjective in recent history is "sick". Everything and anything worth half a damn to someone in their early 20's is "sick". I' "sick" of hearing it.

Nobody ever thinks its fairly creepy and distressing to feel a kinship with others because you both own high end,expensive electronics that anyone can buy (you're not in a secret society). Steve Jobs passing was like losing a family member,you swap out your phone/ipad/ipod the second a new one is available regardless of cost and apparently Apple products have never failed,gotten viruses or broken down...ever! It's like talking to cool kids in junior high who sneer because someone doesn't wear name brand jeans to school.

There's a Chinese restaurant near me called The Rice Bowl, and it's no�joke to say that,�since I don't eat much rice at all, I'm discouraged from a restaurant�whose name suggests thet they have nothing but bowls FULL of the stuff. ��

People not washing their hands, leaving lights on, saying "You don't babyproof a house; you houseproof a baby..." This wretched kid "Nobody" who apparently does stuff like eat all my pregnant mama food, leaves lights on, sticks bathroom tissue into the sink drain... Being annoyed generally at others' intolerant, ill manners, inconsiderateness, etc.

Well, I have the opposite complaint, which is well-meaning people putting food ON your plate, and pretty much ordering you to accept it. You don't have to be a dieter, or some kind of gourmet, or anything like that, to have a nice little arrangement of food on that plate, one that you're actually a little proud of. And suddenly it's "You have to try this" and "I can't finish this - you've gotta help." (Hey, what if YOU can't finish YOUR plate of food, especially now that they've done that?!) And unlike people taking things OFF your plate, you're in a tricky situation when it comes to resenting it!

Jan 16 12 1:11 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've gone on and on about it, but one of my biggest is this. Living in a suburb in southern Texas (I don't know about any other place), I have to smell the miserable smell of TRASH FIRES any given day of the year. And - I'm not making this up - about the only times not to expect them are COOL or COLD days, when a fire can actually accomplish something, and can actually smell NICE (even I'm sentimental about those). But the hotter it is, the more you can expect them. Right it's very warm, and so there's one in the same g-d- yard for about the fifth time or more this month (and it's only the 16th)! The sky keeps getting dark but that doesn't matter, since I don't think I've ever, ever seen it rain on one of those things and mess it up. God evidently likes them (talk about mysterious ways).
