Caught this little piece of 50s memorabilia on a DVD I rented and found it really kind of pleasant in a boring sort of way.
It concerns a group of four divers (2 boys, 2 girls... how convenient) whose 'bell' cuts loose somehow and they wind up in an underwater cavern. The people above think they perished, but they can actually breathe in the cavern.
Love stories develop, the girls fight, John Carradine works feverishly at the surface to send another expedition to at the very least find the bodies, a few petrified things are found, a Gilligan's Island-type native is found (and turns out to be a bit malevolent), etc., etc.
Anyway, it's only about 62 minutes or so long and although I can't say it was thrilling, it for some reason appealed to me. Oh, wait, one thing that was really cool was a fight right at the beginning between a squid and a shark... good stuff. I was waiting for more of that, to no avail.
Any fans of this one out there? I can think of much worse 50s schlok....
