Jul 7 10 3:23 PM More My Recent Posts	Just heard the latest news that as of July 7, MGM is totally broke and as a result, production on the next Bond has been cancelled. Yes, cancelled, not delayed. News outlets are saying it could be several years before production could be started again, but it probably won't be at MGM. What a mess!

His first Batman film felt a lot like a Bond film and elements of the second did as well. Completely cancelled, or simply suspended? Here's what producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a joint statement: "Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on BOND 23 indefinitely." Jul 19 10 11:40 AM More My Recent Posts	Bijou, first I heard "cancelled", as in the whole film is scrapped. Then I read online "suspended", as in everything is on hold. It's hard to know exactly what's going on when you're not involved directly. Check the MI6 link above for current info. Personally I think a long wait is what's coming, like between LTK and Goldeneye. Will Sam Menzies and Craig hold on for that long? Highly doubtful.

After all the years of Eon vs. McClory, it would be ironic for the franchise to die now that the legal wrangling was over. (At least we finally got to see CASINO ROYALE incorporated into their cinematic cannon.)

Jul 21 10 11:51 AM More My Recent Posts	Bijou, It's tempting to think Bond would end up somewhere else like Warners or Paramount, but make no mistake, MGM would never let Mr. Bond go without a fight. As it exists now, all MGM has of any value is Bond and The Hobbit. Their film library is another story. Take away 007 and The Hobbit and the studio is finished for sure. The top brass know this and are trying to stay afloat, but nobody knows for how long.
