Whereas somebody might not care for him as Bond, I just can't understand the hatred. How do Bond fans feel about Brosnan? Even if he was the best, his movies were utter crap, and I would hope the Bond fans could at least accept that the Craig films are very good movies. May 21 12 11:50 AM More My Recent Posts	Carl, there are some hardcore fans who dislike almost every Bond movie for various reasons. I think the current Craig haters usually cite his blond hair (Bond was never a blond), his height (he's not even 6 ft.), his overall look (he looks like a thug). Bond as portrayed in the early films and original Fleming books is a suave, smooth, chick magnet who's cool under fire and can handle any dangerous situation. Not a troubled, doubting, rough looking government assassin. All of the other actors to play Bond before Craig certainly fit the bill; all had dark hair, were tall, and looked good in a tux. They all could handle themselves when it came to fighting and rough stuff, except the later Moore films. Craig is a total departure from previous Bonds and many purists simply will not accept him in any way. Before CASINO ROYALE came out, I had gotten a copy of the script, so I knew what was coming. And I was ready to tear the film apart, which I did. I did'nt like the idea of Brosnan being let go, and the total reboot of the series. I especially hated QOS, and still do. But having rewatched CASINO again, I can appreciate it as a good film with a killer title sequence and theme song, and a properly slimy villain. But for me, Craig is still not, and will never be, James Bond. This won't stop me from seeing SKYFALL, however.

This is actually the first I heard that there's ANY bad feeling toward Craig. I assumed everybody --well, not everybody, but you know what I mean -- liked him.

According to Fleming, Bond bears a strong resemblance to Hoagy Carmichael--not bad looking, but not exactly a typical Hollywood leading man.

May 21 12 4:21 PM More My Recent Posts	i like the craig bond films but am i seeing things wrong?it seems bond is at odds with his superiors again.i am going by the word asociation scene.i may be wrong. craig in some way is like the bond of the books.in some ways not. i wonder if he will get rid of the rough edges.bond is best as the suave guy who turns violent killer when necessary and then back into the suave guy when the violence is done.craig needs to get to that point.if he didn`t do it in skyfall he should have.

But this all comes down to mostly story. If it's a good story I like it, and for the most part the Bond films have been not good stories. May 21 12 7:40 PM More My Recent Posts	I'm trying to keep in mind that this is merely the teaser and not the full blown trailer. I do miss the traditional Bond music ringing in the background. I have MANY fond memories of sitting in a movie theater and watching the trailers (in the days before anyone knew what trailers were tagged to the main feature). Whenever there was the unexpected trailer for a Bond (Connery/Moore/Dalton/Brosnan... don't remember ever seeing a OHMSS trailer in the theater), the quick cutting and pulsating James Bond theme would ignite a ripple of excitement and cheers throughout the cinema. I have high hopes for SKYFALL (I loved CASINO ROYALE but hated QUANTUM OF SOLACE), but this trailer plays out like a generic action-thriller, not a James Bond film. But I didn't care much for the CASINO ROYALE trailer either, and that film was great... and I REALLY want to like SKYFALL after the crushing disappoinment of QUANTUM.
