This one isn't the best TZ episode of the series, but it's very straightforward. Greedy men make stupid choices and kill each other off after
committing a robbery (gold bars) and then putting themselves into suspended animation in an Arizona cave for 100 years.
True science fiction fans get their payoff for watching this one at the very end. The middle-aged couple who encounter the last theif lying next to a desert road are driving Robby's car from Forbidden Planet -- but the vehicle was be modified in a dramatic and impressive way!
Compare the picture above to the one below which shows the original Robby Car in Forbidden Planet .
I almost hate to say this, but the TZ version of the FP car is actually better than the original! The seats are more comfortable, and they offer support for the passengers' heads in case of rear-end collision.
The question is, who made these impressive alterations to Robby's car just five years after Forbidden Planet was released?
I'd love to know what Bill Malone (the owner of Robby and his car) has to say about this drastic design change.
