This weekend I'm working on a shoot, for this documentary about Woody Guthrie. Nuthin special.
I was talking to this cute-as-a-button 20 year old film student from USC named Francie. She told me that for years now, they've had an annual Ed Wood Film Festival. This was news to me, since I go over all the listings for retrospective screenings in the LA Times and LA Weekly.
The reason I'd never heard of it is that they don't show any Ed Wood films. It is an annual ritual of their film department in which students are assigned their topic for a short film one day at noon, and it's due the next DAY at noon.
