I wish I had a dime for every Italian horror or Giallo from the 70's or 80's that started in "New York City."

The sound they used was synchronized futuristic electronic music/effects. 100x better than that ancient huppertz music. really a sci-fi pic requires some imagination & BBC got it exactly right. Its print was the American version from BFI (high quality) & it was projected at natural speed 126 min. This new Metropolis runs too fast for my liking.

In the restoration feature there are some scenes in a film archive with drawers and drawers of thousands of photographs from the film and they show a few. I wonder if there are any surprises in there and who's going to do the book or DVD slideshow?

If they ever recover the final few feet of missing film, or reconstruct the two missing scenes from existing stills, or if technology advances to the point that the 16mm footage can be further cleaned up or perhaps seamlessly recreated, I'll probably feel compelled to shell out another chunk of change to upgrade yet again.
