Finally, after all this time, I watched the b side for MGM's Double Feature with VOODOO ISLAND.
THE FOUR SKULLS OF JONATHAN DRAKE was disappointing. I won't say it was worse that VOODOO ISLAND. The acting was better. But the quality of the story was the same.
I found it difficult that anyone involved with law enforcement would so willingly believe in supernatural events. Yet all it took was a forensic scientist to hint at the detective and he's sold.
Henry Daniell couldn't save this film. But, I did find the head shrinking technique fascinating.
Perhaps it was more of a let down for me because the film's theme and it's star (Daniell) were so promising.
And how willing the family physician was to die. He didn't even put up a fight. It was equally ridiculous to see this guy readily wearing his stethoscope.
I wasn't concerned about the characters. They were bland. Unless you were with Daniell or his servant, the film was dull.
