Question: I happened to be reading the reviews of "I Was a Teenage Frankenstein" on the IMDB and one of the reviews mentioned that one should, if possible, get a copy of the "unedited version and avoid the edited, British version called "Teenage Frankenstein", which was released on video about 10 years ago". I had a copy of "I Was a..." I recorded off TCM some years ago & ended up replacing it recently with a factory videotape I got off Amazon.com, which I felt would be better, quality-wise, but noticed that it's title card called it simply "Teenage Frankenstein", whereas the TCM print used the full title ("I Was A..."). I never really watched both side-by-side to see if the factory video had been cut, but did wonder about why it's title card had a shortened title.
I've since lost (or recorded over) that TCM print, and ended up transferring the factory tape to DVD. Has anyone else heard that the "Teenage Frankenstein" copy had been edited (and did I end up getting rid of a more complete print??)? I had never heard that until I read that one reviewer. If so, was that TCM print, that used the full "I Was a..." title the more complete print?
