I wouldn't have changed the pitch especially because the camera zoomed in. But for alot of people the scene worked perfectly. If your vocal cords are shorter, by factor of, oh say 1,000, I'd expect a change in your pitch.

Mar 30 10 6:49 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	There were two stuntmen as The Fly-Man in Return of the Fly. Ed Wolfe is usuually credited as the only stuntman. In Scary Monsters Magazine # 25, from 1997, Paul Parla revealed that Joe Becker was a stand-in for Ed Wolfe in ROF. Becker did the "action" in where the "fly-man" is being chased by police... Becker also did the scene scenes in where the creature climbs into Danielle De Metz' bedroom window and kneels beside her bed. Becker can be seen in most of the publicity poses with and without Vincent Price. Replacing Wolfe in certain scenes was mainly due to Wolf'e's extreme height and fragile health. There was concern Wolfe would injure himself attempting the "action" sequences and his heart would not be able to take the strain, so enter Joe Becker.. another early rediscovery of Paul and Donna Parla. Can someone take a stab now at which scenes were done by Ed and which by Joe, along with photos? Another discrepancy in ROF of the Fly is that "giantism" was done when Phillipe re-emerged with the Fly Head, he was now seven feet tall, but when the detective re-emerged with the rat., he wasn't now seven feet tall. And when The Fly Man went through the disintegration-integration process with the fly that had the human head, there was no guarantee or assurance that both would emerge as they were before and/or the giantism problem would be likewise reversed. Q:"What do you call about your Fly portrayer, Ed Wolff ( "Hollywood's Tallest Actor)?" A:" Just that he couldn't stand on his feet for long periods of time, and he had great difficulty breathing while wearing the Fly head. Our friend, Joe Becker, the stuntman, did most of the closeups using the Fly's head. Joe did all the action sequences fo Wolff."
