Apr 2 10 5:49 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Talking to someone who saw Ingrid at the World Horror Convention in Brighton it sounds like Ingrid’s gone from bad to worse. She was brought in a wheelchair! When old friends came over to say hello she knew them but didn’t know who they were. It’s seems to be usual practice for Ingrid’s management to take the organisers money & then present them with the moral dilemma of putting her onstage. Course the organisers didn’t want to put her through the ordeal but Ingrid realised what was happening & demanded to go onstage. Apparently she spent most of the time raving over Clint Eastwood’s body.

May 11 12 1:52 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Just seeing this thread. Sad reading back through the comments from 2010 when Ingrid was very ill. To add my belated pennysworth, it didn't matter what state Ingrid was in, she was determined to do the events. She really did live for them, and the fans. To bring you up to date - The Hammer Xperience will hopefully still be published this year. Work is ongoing at present. More once details are confirmed. A number of Ingrid's books, including several previously unpublished titles, are being issued over the next couple of years through Avalard Publishing (disclaimer: my own publishing company). The first - ANNUL DOMINI - came out in March, and is her reworking of the Passion story. Book is available in hardback from http://www.avalardpublishing.com or eBook from Amazon. Of particular interest to readers of this thread will be the next title - DRACULA WHO...? which is to be released in October - with a formal launch at the Ingrid Pitt Festival in Hastings on 27 October. During the 1990s Hammer had this one optioned as a big-budget picture, before the deal with Warner Bros fell through. Ingrid left a substantial body of work behind, and I'm working with the estate to bring as much of it as possible to the fans.

May 15 12 3:52 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Looking forward to that Dracula book! Had long wanted to see Hammer pit (no pun intended) Van Helsing against the Karnstein clan. It never happened and so a couple of years ago I turned the idea into a story for a magazine serial called "To Love a Vampire" as a tribute to Hammer horror, having Van Helsing first encounter vampirism (and Carmilla) as a medical student. Ingrid passed away just before the first chapter ran, but fortunately we had enough time to dedicate the series to her when it debuted.

I also have read a few of her columns and features, but I had not read enough of her later columns to see any decline in her writing... if true it is most sad because I have always found her writing to be engaging even if I disagreed with her on a few points from time to time! . She certainly has left a great body of work behind, indeed, so I hope your attempts to bring it to the fans meet with success, rjesimpson.
