Couldn't find a thread, and wanted to write something after just finishing watching this one, in which the daughter of a disgraced doctor/scientist avenges
his death by killing his detractors with help from a hypnotized stripper with long, lethal, poisonous fingernails. Now that's some late Friday night
viewing!
Seriously, I really did enjoy this Jesse Franco outing, which starred a bunch of people I had never heard of. Almost immediately, you can feel the anger seething out of the daughter of the scientist, who claimed he had perfected a brain procedure that could turn criminals into decent human beings, only to be ridiculed by a panel of doctors. Then, when her dad died on the spot of a heart attack, she vowed to take revenge. Mean, mean girl, this one was. The stripper she kidnaps, brainwashes and employs as a killer was also great as a seductress who really nails her targets.
The reason I watched it is I noticed that 39 years ago today it played on one of the first "Screaming Yellow Theater" shows here in Chicago, starring the original Svengoolie, Jerry G. Bishop. I just happened to have the movie on DVD. Of course, I had to look up and watch an old clip of Sven on youtube before hitting the play button on the DVD player.
Anyway, any lovers, or haters of the not-so-good doctor?
