First off, forgive my obscene number of posts, but I'm new here and these boards are like a dream come true. I don't have any friends that share my love of old scare films. OK, I don't have any friends, period.
The Land Unknown I first saw at my cousin's house in Suffern, NY (along with Curse Of The Cat People) when I was very young in the 1970's.
A few years back I snagged the VHS the day it was released, and I still love it as much as I did as a kid.
Sure, the dinosaurs are not exactly Jurassic Park quality, but they have a lot of personality. Almost dreamlike in their phoniness.
I love the premise, that a Jurassic oasis exists in a deep volcanic valley of the Antarctic. So cool how the pterodactyl crashes into the helicopter, sending our heroes into The Land Unknown.
It's my favorite movie for a Saturday night with a few beers and a Domino's thin crust pizza.
Any thoughts? Any fans?
Thank You, Doug
