This shot looks dreadful, so much so that it prompted a nasty remark in a hardcover history of Warner Brothers that really irked me -- especially since it's not in the movie. I think that the rear projection shots in BEAST are actually very effective, especially the night sequence where the creature touches the high-tension wires. "It's going to TOUCH 'EM!" This is one of my favorite monster flicks (and movies in general) of all time. I find the acting, story, directing, and productions values to all be quite high. there's only a couple of things that bother me about the movie. One is the illustration of the Beast that is used when Nesbitt is prerusing stacks of illustrations to pick out the beast he saw. All the other illustrations are clearly of a scholarly source while the Beast is clearly in a drastically, different style. Too my eye, it does not closely resemble the Beast we see in the movie. Second is when Professor Elson so quickly stakes is reputation that their is a living dinosaur on the testimony of just two people. However, these are just nits, and I write them off as required to move the story along. Is there any news of TBF20K being released on blu-ray? When this happens I hope it gets treated like TCFTBL has been. Full documentary and a commentary by Tom Weaver. I love his commentaries on the Creature and ICFOS. You can tell he came ready to talk. The first two images are from screen grabs from my dvd. This one is from the classic poster we all know. I was on the biggest pumpkins and I consider it to be only partially successful. If you look closely, you will see I also cheated. And this is my favorite of the bunch. It came from a recently discovered poster.

It this what's really happing? I'm using Safari on an iMac, and I also get messages that my browser security setting prevent me from doing a paste directly. Anyone else getting this.
