Quick question for you all....
I remember as a kid, (1965 or 66) the local paper advertised that Frankenstein was going to appear at the Woolworth's Drug Store. My parents took me down there and I vividly remember going to meet Frankenstein and being scared witless... I remember being able to see up the neck area of his mask and his flesh colored neck underneath but, was CONVINCED I had actually met Frankenstein.
I know there was a promotion by Famous Monsters at some point where Frankensteins were out pushing the magazine but, am not aware of how widespread this was. My experience was here in St. Louis....middle earth...
I'm sure the biggies were part of the promotion; NY, CA...
Do any of you have info on the FM Frankenstein appearances, ie, years it took place, where?
I have no idea if this was part of the FM promotion or just the popularity of monsters during the time for some other advertising campaign.
My father remembered the event but, not what it was for....
Any info would be cool....or just related experiences...
