Aug 1 09 5:11 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I always thought that song perfectly set the tone for the film up. It's one of my favorite film intros (and films) of all time and i fondly recall first seeing it late at night with no real previous knowledge of it at all. The grainy print coupled with the husbands bizarre demeanor and the fact that the lake looked like some vast ocean of murky ink really left an impression and the creepy score is one of my all time favorites. I must also make mention of the phenomenally unnerving credits artwork with its creepy images and subtle animations. Thinking about it makes me want to rewatch it as i type this.

Aug 1 09 8:29 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	That song is awesome. I'm a huge fan of rockabilly, anyway, but the opening scene and music of D13 is burned in my head. As a kid I thought, 'hey- that guy sounds just like Elvis!'. And then waited for the choppin'.

A definite signal to the AIP horror audiences that they weren't in "Teenage Frankenstein" territory anymore. I love how the music sets the scene tempo and then gets gurgly when things go bad. So, no one seems to know who performed the song though? I have trouble believing it's something Ronald Stein wrote, just seems out of his bailiwick ... if this is a "real" recording that some artist did, I'd love to find it and slap it onto the next Halloween mix.

If you have to be ax murdered this is the kind of rocker you want playing in the background. You wouldn't want to be murdered to Justin Bieber, would you? That would be criminal.
