Are we eligible for next year, as well? I'd like another shot at it!

Hey, I have a question. Our article in Filmfax spanned last year and this year. The last part came out after the Rondos, and I think the second came out either
during or right around the Rondos.
Are we eligible for next year, as well? I'd like another shot at it!
Consider the true cost of living with Clown Phobia.

Did anybody second Mike Hill's nomination? If not I'll second that nomination! If so I'll third it, or fourth it, or whatever.
And now what I really want to know is, did you do a full body sculpt of Maleva, Mike? Hmmmm? |

I would like to nominate Joe Bob Briggs once again for the Rondo Hall of Fame.I'll second that! Mike, if it weren't for the clay eyebrows, I'd have thought I was looking at a photo of Maria as Maleva. Incredibly lifelike! |

Well it is a Rondo award...

Monster Kid Hall Of Fame | ||
|
I've nominated them before, and so I shall again (in no particular order)...
TED NEWSOM...for a lifetime of loyalty to fandom, for bringing Cushing and Lee back together one last time, for creating THE NAKED MONSTER, collecting the most amazing cast of 1950's sci-fi heroes and heroines ever. DAVID J. SCHOW...the Anthony Bourdain of genre fandom, for THE OUTER LIMITS COMPANION, numerous screenplays, magazine articles and novels, and the self-published BLACK LAGOON BUGLE, which chronicled all things CREATURE related for almost a decade. and TAYLOR WHITE, whose little shop of horrors in Burbank, CREATURE FEATURES, brought together Burns, Roebuck, Skotak, Darabont, Schow, Skal, Glut, Warren, Newsom and countless others to a place where fandom grew to a fever pitch during the 1990's. And now that I think of it, DANIEL ROEBUCK, who has used his success as an actor to spread the good word of Monster Kid fandom, and now opens his Dr. Shocker Museum to anyone who visits the Los Angeles area. Okay, I'm done. I think. Frank Dietz

For what it's worth, I'd second all four of Frank's choices (Newsom, Schow, White and Roebuck), and even toss in Dennis Druktenis (SCARY MONSTERS
MAGAZINE) as a candidate for "Monster Kid Hall of Fame" for his efforts in bringing fans a retro-style monster mag like the ones so many of us grew
up with.

I too would like to nominate Dennis Druktenis (Scary Monsters) and Tim & Donna Lucas for the Monster Kid Hall of Fame. Tim, Donna, and Video
Watchdog have more Rondos than anyone, yet they're not in the Hall of Fame yet. That needs to change this year.

I nominate Gregory Mank's BELA LUGOSI AND BORIS KARLOFF for the best genre book of 2009.

I'm not suggesting that we ought to routinely honor our favorite authors in this particular fashion, but I'd like to suggest the recently departed Phillip Jose Farmer for consideration as a Hall of Famer. More so than any other great science fiction writer, he exemplifies what we're all about.
I'm not sure if he was big on conventions and the like, but I'm sure that we'd have enjoyed his company.

I've never been crazy about the whole idea of posthumous awards. It's too easy to let emotion run rampant over good sense. But, in this case, a
posthumous award for Mike Thomas is not only appropriate, not only sad, but probably overdue. I'm all for it.
