If it was a scam, I am sorry for all involved.)It was a massive scam that Mirek directed our collective attention toward; as people on the board began investigating on their own and posting their findings, a larger pattern of deception and fraud appeared to be taking shape. The end-result was the creation of what can only be called an "epic thread." I didn't realize that our Yuku overlords dropped it down the memory hole-- it's too bad, since it really was a public-service announcement. kevinwilliam007 wrote: Best restoration - Nightmare Castle (Severin)DVD extra: Barbara Steele in conversation - Nightmare Castle (Severin)Best DVD featurette/short/independent film: Spine Tingler -The William Castle Story Yes. CreepingBride wrote:How about Dave Sindelar? I'm not sure which category, but his horror/sci-fi/fantasy film-a-day project on CHFB just broke 30000... that's got to be worth something if only for endurance & stick-to-it-iveness. His latest venture is to cull those 3000 into an "essential 300". Dave's folder is a favorite destination of mine on CHFB. I've remembered and discovered all kinds of things there, and there's often some good chatter in the threads.

Tim Lucas VW wrote:A title worth remembering for the Best DVD nominations is Mark Hartley's NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD, "the wild untold story of Ozploitation"! This is a rollicking, amazingly lively history of all manner of Australian exploitation cinema, the bulk of which focuses on such horror fare as STRANGE BEHAVIOR, ROAD GAMES, RAZORBACK, NIGHT OF EVIL and THIRST, along with action classics like MAD MAX, THE ROAD WARRIOR, MAD DOG MORGAN and DEAD END DRIVE-IN. This is the rare documentary that entertains just as well if you have absolutely no experience of the films being discussed. Hartley is also to be congratulated for managing to talk with just about everybody relevant, from directors like George Miller, Brian Trenchard-Smith and Richard Franklin to stars like Dennis Hopper, Jamie Lee Curtis and Stacy Keach. An enthusiastic Quentin Tarantino, spouting off the history of this stuff, is the glue that holds it all together. Highly recommended. On Magnet Video.

Laff in the Dark was the first website dedicated to dark rides and funhouses. We have developed a huge international network of fans and feature the greatest collection of dark ride and funhouse information ever assembled. The site was founded because we realized that while there are many websites devoted to roller coasters, carousels, and amusement parks in general, information on our favorite spooky rides was very scarce. So, through our own research and the generous sharing of information and photos from our many visitors, Laff In The Dark has become "World Headquarters for Dark Ride Fans"!
Here at Laff in the Dark, we've not only documented many rides, builders and artists from the past and present, we've also guided a huge number of our visitors to rides that exist today, thereby helping to ensure that those rides continue to operate and stay healthy and scary!
