Probably the same cut as the feature-length version they released to theaters--it wasn't made for TV. When it finally did reach TV, it was called BANNER IN THE SKY.

I saw this movie first when I was 8 years old, and I saw it at the grand old Egyptian theater in Coos Bay, Oregon. (Coos rhymes with goose, not with booze) That theater was in danger of demoltion not long ago, but my niece Jenifer, who lives in Coos Bay, has kept me apprised of efforts to forestall that sad conclusion. The theater is open for business, showing older films on the weekends, up for rental the rest of the time. Jenifer send me a link that really delighted me: Egyptian Theatre - Coos Bay Oregon THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL--the original--is going to be shown there at the end of February.
