Apr 27 12 1:19 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	When I was a kid, the pre-credits sequence of FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER scared the heck out of me -- the weird-looking woman running up to the camera. Other parts scared me too. Flash-forward to the late 1980s when I wanted to show F'S D to a ten-year-old nephew weened on FRIDAY THE 13TH, etc. The woman runs up to the camera and HE runs out the door -- he was terrified, said it was too scary. Flash-forward to about a week ago: I'm on an airplane coming home from California and I'm talking to the lady in the next seat, and she asks me what I do and I mention doing a lot of writing about old horror movies. "Oh, they scare me, I don't watch 'em, not since I was a kid." she says. "Which ones scared you as a kid?" I ask. She says, "FRANKENSTEIN'S DAUGHTER. Oh, that woman walking down the street -- terrifying!" All hail Richard Cunha, and "Go sit on a tack" to every so-called horror oldies fan who says he was a no-talent. There are none so blind as those who will not see!

Last night I saw again "Kiss Kiss, Kill Kill" (one of the "Kommissar X" spy movie series), and one scene had a stage performance of a horror / suspense play, and an actor was wearing a mask that looked pretty similar.

Aug 31 12 9:49 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	F.D's is one of those old flicks you enjoy watching if for no other reason, we are informed that 0liver is a 'direct' descendant of Dr. H.Frankenstein, and you dont get shapely women running around in bathing suits w/ twisted faces everyday. 0liver came across as a pervert 2me, trying to make out w/ a much younger Susie in his car. And his assault on Uncle Carter is downright cowardly!

Oct 31 12 1:36 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I really enjoy Richard Cunha's science-fiction films... well, three of them anyway ( MISSILE TO THE MOON is almost as much fun as a visit to the dentist ), and FRANKENSTEIN"S DAUGHTER is my favorite. Granted, it's a cheaply made B quickie, but its entertainment value exceeds that of bigger budgeted stuff like CONQUEST OF SPACE and RIDERS TO THE STARS. Donald Murphy's portrayal of Oliver Frank is a real hoot, and, along with Rudolph Anders' Colonel Osler in SHE DEMONS, shows Cunha's knack for creating memorable villains. And of course there's those great (!) songs, courtesy of the immortal Page Cavanaugh Trio. Every time I watch this film, I hear "Special Date" bouncing around in my head for the next several days.
