Uniformly, the original Technicolor prints of SINBAD are not only colorful, they are incredibly sharp. However, I recently compared two Technicolor trailers and discovered a startling difference in timing between the two. I'll be seeing Columbia's new LPP print of the film next month. Sep 11 07 5:39 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Yes the "good" print of this one (about 80%) was indeed sharp as a tack with what i thought was perfectly balanced color. The replacement sections were overly chromatic and warm, with less dense blacks and softer. But I was assured they were IB as well, just from another print. Was any work done on the "new" LPP? Please let me know how it looks! And any "insiders" know if there's plans for a re-release afoot next year, video or otherwise? SAM33

Not only is the ambiance perfect (a 1,000 seat, 1923 neighborhood house), but the projection there is the best in the area (and it's projected onto an actual silver screen, too). J. Sep 14 07 9:32 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I saw House Of Frankenstein as well as March Of The Wooden Soldiers at The Lafayette last year and both were just amazing to see on the big screen. As far as I can see, The Laffayette hasn't yet announced the line-up for their annual Halloween Fright Fest. Though they DO say that they are having it!

DR.STRANGELOVE 4.CITIZEN KANE 3.THE GODFATHER/& PART II 2.2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY Number one is SINBAD. Zombie Dad said:"7th VOYAGE was the perfect movie for an eleven year old boy in 1958" I was an eleven year old boy in 1973 and in many ways, still am! I saw the film in its theatrical re-release in 1975 and was completely blown away! When I got my first DVD player, it was the first film I bought on DVD. I watch it at least twice a year, now along with my daughter, who commented last week as I was moving the Xmas tree from one spot to another in our living room, "Daddy, you picked up that tree like the Cyclops!" Second-generation monsterkid. Hey Zombie Dad, is there a 2 headed- mama Roc in your portfolio? "How can I handcuff a bloomin' shirt??!?"

Dec 9 08 9:37 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	7th Voyage is definitely in my top ten films. As Sinbads go, though, I think it's my second favorite. Top of that list is Golden Voyage. Mostly, it's because of the cast: Tom Baker, Caroline Munro... but the script has some great plotting as well, with the race for the treasures, and the secret of the strange medallion. The fact that the film has a much more realistic color pallete is also something I also prefer. But 7th Voyage had the better score, it's true, and the skeleton fight in that film remains my choice for single best stop motion sequence ever comitted to film. (Yes, Jason had more skeletons, sure, but conceptually and dramatically, the skeleton in 7th worked far better.)
