Many years ago Forry Ackerman began referring me as 'Rick Beal' due to my love for this moody atmospheric morality play. Directed by John Farrow with
an excellent cast: Ray Milland, Audrey Totter, Thomas Mitchell, George MacReady and Fred Clark (including Douglas 'THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD'
Spencer), and score by Franz Waxman, this now little seen crime/supernatural fusion is little seen today. Over a long stretch of time I ended up picking up the
original 1-sheet, lobby cards, stills and shooting script (original title: BEYOND EVIL) to the point I know I'll end up writing something on this down the
road. When Universal picked up the older Paramount titles for vhs/laserdisc/dvd I was really surprised this well made thriller wasn't released. Now, nearly
forgotten, I would like to hear input from film buffs like myself who have, in my own opinion, little gem!
