When she looks out of her tomb her eyes are in the same place as the mummy's eyes so.....no real mummy. I stayed up to watch this and thought it was very disappointing. I was a shocked when I learned that the director would go on to make films like NINOTCHKA, THE SHOP AROUND THE CORNER and TO BE OR NOT TO BE. The actor in the film would also go on to become the first Academy Award winner for Best Actor. The film was slower than a real mummy and there wasn't too much life to it, although the ending was very nice. I actually enjoyed MUMMY'S BOYS more, which was on afterwards.

It's pretty weak but is perhaps notable as being the closest thing to a horror film that Ernst Lubitsch ever did.

Nov 8 05 9:45 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	yup, TCM in Britain is crap! They show Mark of the Vampire (great movie though) practically every day. Only silent I've seen on UK TCM is a Lon Chaney/Joan Crawford circus type picture which was fabulous. The Unknown?
