Did anyone send any messages or any communication on behalf of Lux Interior's Hall of Fame induction?

What fantastic photos and videos! Thank you for posting them. I wish we could've made the trip down this year but, alas, my broom's in the repair
shop. It looks like a marvelous time was had by all.

Thanks David and all who contributed those wonderful photos and video clips.
I don't know what else to say except to quote my 10-year-old inner Monster Kid and say "Coooooooool!!!!!!!" I'm feeling all warm and cuddly now. Cromwell |

"Wonder"ful photos and a great write-up on the activities. Thanks. Wish I could have made it but my Mom caught me sneaking out to the car with Kerry
and grabbed me by the ear and dragged me back into the house for the family reunion. At least Kerry got away! (Kerry and I were attending a family reunion for
our grandfather's side of the family that weekend in Thebes, IL).

Donna Lucas Accepts David J. Schow's "Donndo" Award
|
Unfortunately my camera battery was running extremely low, so I didn't get David J. Schow's entertaining explanation of the "Donndo" Award, which had to do with his annoyance that Donna had to share all her Rondo Awards with me, though I received both of mine this year independently of her. When I realized what was afoot, I said "Damn the torpedoes" and ploughed ahead, capturing her charming acceptance speech. That's David, the Brown Jenkin of horror fandom, ducking his head in at the end. Viewable in HD, courtesy of the Video Watchdog Archives. Read Video WatchBlog at www.videowatchdog.com!

I think Zogstar67 best summarized The Old Dark Clubhouse when he looked up from a bag of snacks and said, "It's a riot of the senses!"
Did I really arrive at WonderFest a week ago today? Time used to pass, now it hemorrhages. Read Video WatchBlog at www.videowatchdog.com!

Sounds like a great convention filled with wonderful things to do & a lot of nice people. Nancy (the real lsohgirl) and I are considering going next year.
Of course, next year we are buying a new car and the following year redoing our kitchen - so we look at more economical cons now. But we certainly hope we can
make it.
Congratulations to Jim and Marian for their deserved induction into the Monster Kid Hall of Fame. They are keeping the classic horror flame burning brightly in a time when factors seem to work against great 'zines surviving. And to Donna Lucas -who has given me so much help over the years, and if I haven't thanked her enough, well, "thank you Donna!" And of course, that Tim guy....... the famous Klem |

Glad to see all the pictures and video! My thanks to David Colton for inviting me to take part in the awards ceremony (a last minute thing since I did not
think I could come to Wonderfest); it was an honor! Especially since it was to present an award to Gary Prange, whose efforts on the Old Dark Club House have
made many Monster Kids feel that they had a home away from home. (Why didn't I say that at the presentation?! Arrrgh!!) The ODCH has been a place where
friends have met for the first time, and where existing bonds of friendship have been strengthened.

From all the pictures and video everything looked splendid. I glad "bgart13.thelatarniaforum" asked about Lux Interior's Hall of Fame induction.
I was wondering that myself till I saw his question posted. I'll have to wonder down one of these years and check out Wonderfest.

Thanks for all the pics and video posted here. I'm bummed that I didn't make it to the ceremony with Professor Emcee Square, Stiff and Leah, but
I'm glad I could see them accept the Best Fan Event award here.
Thanks also to David and the board members involved in making the Rondos happen year after year. This is such an exciting things for fans to be involved in. We're really honored to have been nominated for World Zombie Day and our other ventures and pleased to have won for a second time. |

What a surprise that was! Being awarded a Special Appreciation Rondo for the Old Dark Clubhouse was quite a shock, deeply appreciated and very
humbling. I'm keenly aware of the appreciation for the ODCH demonstrated in so many ways over the years, but this year was extra-special. I was somewhat
already in a daze having gone to bed at 4:15 am and rising at 7:30am, so it was kinda hard to clear the cobwebs (now who'd wanna do that?) and thank all
those who deserved thanking. It's probably a good thing, because I'd still be standing up there, the hotel staff sweeping around me as I recite names.
So thank you one and all, and especially David Colton, for it wasn't for that lone Universal Horror folder squatting in the literary Realms of Shadows Past location shining like a beacon on AOL, there would be no CHFB, no "monster kid" term to describe us, no Rondo Awards and most importantly none of the special friendships that have grown and strengthened into familial bonds over the years. Monster Kids of the Year Remember Forry - Pt. 1
|
To introduce Joe Moe, this year's Monster Kid of the Year, the Rondo Awards arranged for an historic assembly of four of the five past honorees: Larry Blamire, Joe Busam, Raymond "Coffin Ray" Castile and Michael Schlesinger. Each was asked to offer their personal memories of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND and its editor Forrest J Ackerman, who passed away this year. A great piece of video, viewable in HD courtesy of the Video Watchdog Archives. Read Video WatchBlog at www.videowatchdog.com!
