Connie, Ray and Kim: Thanks for taking the time to give us the insider's look at how the future will play out. (And best of luck to the three of you on
the various new ventures!)

I'm glad that the parties were able to settle this amicably. It is not fun to blow money on attorneys and court costs.

I never felt this board really added to the flame war re: FM, FJA andFerry. You couldn't avoid printing the info and commenting on it, but I felt the
moderators kept it under control. Opinions flying, but willing to remove the most inflamatory when required.

But all this legal stuff WAS interesting. But it sure is nice to see it all come to an amicable end, and as Dick says, time to start reading FM again!

I wonder if we'll ever see Ray Ferry editing all or part of K'm's new FM after this big news event? That would REALLY be something!! But I'm
doubting it!

AND......What a WONDERFUL Birthday present for Ray!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RAY!!!!! May you continue for many many many years with FM as it's editor! It will be nice to have you there writing your monsterish words of wisdoom and fun! I look forward to more FM from you!!!! I'm also excited about the two newest magazines from you guys! Freaky (which I already enjoy!) and Shock!,
which will be coming soon! Thanks to you, Connie and Philip Kim, we will be able to enjoy these wonderful monster
magazines. You guys are awesome! So...no more fusses or grumpy jealous insane comments here or anywhere else! As Jack Nicholson's character said in
"Mars Attacks"....."Why can't we work out our differences? Why can't we work things out? Little people, why can't we all just get
along" It seems that the "adults" here....Ray, Connie, and Phil....decided enough was enough!
Thank you for making peace and showing us that the world is a better place when we all work together instead of against each
other.
So...Happy Birthday, Ray! Looking forward to FM #250 and more!!!!!! |

Although I certainly have no inside information whatsoever, it seems like a safe bet that both sides made certain compromises. Well, compromise keeps life
running smoothly, dosen't it? The immature "my way or the highway" attitude does no one any good.
Anyway, happy that a permanent cease fire has been declared, and that all involved parties are satisfied with the outcome! |

Yes, you will have FM by Philip Kim, Shock and Freaky by Ray Ferry!!!! I think it's a win win situation for all of you and all of us!
How uplifting it is to see all these wonderful posts both about the end of the war and of course, Ray's birthday. He is pretty speechless right now. He has enjoyed his term doing FM more than I believe any of you realize. As he quickly pointed out to Phil and has before to others, he also enjoyed some great times with Forry before things went crazy. It's a shame that they never got a chance to work things out between them, but I suppose as a believer of things that were meant to be, it wasn't meant to be. Perhaps with the tribute to Forry in 250 at least a little part of that can be said. He has some wonderful Forry stories that most of fandom doesn't know a thing about because of all the bitterness surrounding things. I hope that you all realize how difficult this will be for Ray and I, saying the final goodbye to the fans that will only buy FM. It's been a fun time, even when things were going crazy on the legal front. As stressful and tense as it was, we always loved the fans and the support we were given. Perhaps, everyone can just take a moment now and reflect on their own lives and begin to think about something that is happening to them and find a way to communicate peace. We found out that it takes very little to finally reach "an accord" if you really bury the terrible things that you have all said and move on. We hope that you will all remember this and take it forward. Don't forget to check out Phil's site for those coins and other items he has for sale. We hope that you will support him in what he does in the future. I know he will protect that mark from all harm and make sure that it goes on. From infancy to toddler to teen and now to adulthood. . .Long live FM!!! so. . . To Phil, To Ray, I raise my glass to a wonderful

This is how I feel about Famous Monsters, Freaky and Shock!
Using the words from the great band, Queen, I say.... "I'm a (wo)man with a one track mind, So much to do in one life time (people do you hear me) Not a (wo)man for compromise and where's and why's and living lies So I'm living it all, yes I'm living it all, And I'm giving it all, and I'm giving it all, It ain't much I'm asking, if you want the truth, Here's to the future, hear the cry of youth, I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now, I want it all, I want it all, I want it all, and I want it now, What ever Ray and Phil do in the future, I will support 100%! And, since I am a girl...I did take the liberty to change a word or two in the lyrics.
I LOVE being a MONSTER KID!!!!! |

Hey Peeps,
A little off topic but watch this interview with Billy Bob Thorton referencing FMoF. He also misspoke and said Forry was the publisher of FMoF...very weird and interesting. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/08/billy-bob-thornton-gives-_n_184948.html |
