A lot of people just treat media like fast food. They don't care about the quality so much as the accessibility and ease. I don't think this is being
an old fart: I believe it is a trend towards less of an appreciation of work being purchased for the sake of 'on demand' and 'gimme now' and
'I wanna carry it all in my pocket' nonsense. I do have an iPod, and I like it, but it isn't a replacement for CDs for me. It's noise in my ear
if I have a long train journey, actually, because I *hate* long train journeys and it calms me down a bit.
I prefer print, yes, and in fact it's much better from an eyesight standpoint to read a long book on paper. (Not that this means much with me; I spend WAY too much time staring at this stupid monitor screen... but we all should prolly do it less...)
I am guilty of doing a lot of research online, mind you, but I do it laterally and in my own way... and I've had some pretty *cool* results... but, in my defense, what am I supposed to do out here in The Stix and with a tight budget?! Otherwise, I agree there too!
