Yes, this was the new Carl Amari produced show, he was talking about on his Twilight Zone Radio website.

LOL... If Carl Amari is involved, I'm surprised it isn't $10.99 per show.

Well, at least these are Old Time Radio Shows, with the Old Time Radio Actors & Actresses. They knew how to take the words off the page then. If you've
listened to any of the actors on the various Twilight Zone shows; you can just picture them.....reading their lines in a sound booth, with the microphone
hanging down before their mouths. I'm telling you, radio acting is an art form all it's own and Carl will have, once and a while, an actor that is
decent. But most of time he has his brother, his kids, his parakeet, playing the various parts. Listen to the cast list at the end of one of his shows.

I'm almost positive his parakeet wouldn't have signed without guaranteed residuals.

It would be nice to find an economic model that could work to bring cleaned-up, restored OTR to life. But, when all of this stuff is pretty freely available
online, it's hard to justify paying three bucks for some Christopher Lee intros. Cool that a few stations seem to be picking it up for broadcast over the
air though, according to the website.
I'm guessing, however, that it's going to be with the hobbyists rather than the businesses where OTR continues to flourish. |

Lawrence, there are those of us out there who still "get it," work at it like Hercules, and are thought by some to do the job decently: http://www.prx.org/search/pieces?q=quicksilver+radio+theater >I'm telling you, radio acting is an art form all it's own and Carl will have, once and a while, an actor that is decent.< I done my damndest when I was out there; hope you consider me among that number? Craig, yes I do! You did a terrific job with Sherlock. I, too, try to give it my best. As a matter of fact, I'll be doing a few recreations, next month. I'm particularly excited about playing the part of Simon Templer, aka- You Know Who. |

Thanks, Lawrence.
I meant when I was out there in Chicago, doing the Amari ZONEs that you'd referred to. I was the agent in THE DUMMY, and the copilot in KING NINE WILL NOT RETURN (and other li'l doublings.) Break one in the recreations! -Craig |

I don't think I've heard those two with you Craig. Although, I remember driving in my car and listening to parts of The Dummy. That was with the late
Bruno Kirby, wasn't it?

Yup. I pitch hit for Frank Sutton, which I considered an honor.

(Folks - just a messenger here; evidently, Carl is a visitor but not a member, and asked me to post this. - Craig)
Lawrence, I was really surprised at what you said about my TWILIGHT ZONE shows on the post -- I thought we were friends but saying that my actors are bad and that I have my parakeet on the show is really a rotten and ignorant thing to say when all I've ever been to you is a friend. People like you, who don't actually produce anything, that criticize people like me that do should be ashamed. And for your information, TZ has won more than a dozen awards of radio excellence in the past few years including AFTRA's highest award, so I'm just glad people who know what they are talking about are the ones judging my show. This is a hoot! Carl, my friend (although, let's be honest here, we were really just acquaintances and fans of a genre), in this particular case,
I would never give a critique on something, unless I felt I was one of three things: 1) An expert, 2) A practioner or 3) a combination of both. Having said
that, I feel that I could discuss your Radio Drama on this website and on this thread in particular, with other like minded individuals. I'm sure the
savvy people that come to this site, know it is my own opinion that is expressed. As far as the parakeet remark, well that was strickly
inserting my brand of humor in the commentary. So CHFB members; what do you make of this?
