Not much seems to be known about actor Don Megowan, who is the only actor to play both the Frankenstein Monster (TALES OF FRANKENSTEIN) and the Black Lagoon
Creature (CREATURE WALKS AMONG US, although he doesn't wear the classic Gill Man outfit.) Megowan also starred in THE WEREWOLF, playing the sheriff and in
CREATION OF THE HUMANOIDS. He also played Mr. Train in TARZAN AND THE VALLEY OF GOLD. I did find this short bio of him:
As usual, many actors from the 1950's and 1960's appear on Cheyenne and Maverick and Don was on a recent Cheyenne show (and I saw Robert Lowery on another episode!) Don played a bad guy and I began to wonder about his career and what got him into acting in the first place but there doesn't seem to be much info about his upbringing. While not a great actor, he usually did a good job in whatever role he was cast and seemed to be versatile enough to be in westerns, crime, comedy, adventure or horror roles.
Born:
1922 in Inglewood, CA

Biography: Sometimes billed as Dan Megowan, general purpose
actor Don Megowan began his acting career in 1951. Usually playing low-mentality thugs, he made several fleeting appearances in Westerns and crime dramas.
Larger roles came his way in Disney productions as Colonel Travis in "Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier" (1955) and as Marion A. Ross in
"The Great Locomotive Chase" (1956). On television, Megowan was seen as Captain Huckabee on the 1961 syndicated adventure series "The
Beachcomber", replacing "Adam West", who had been cast in the role in the pilot episode. One of the actor's more enjoyable assignments
during the '70s was as the gum-chewing desperado in "Mel Brooks"' Western spoof "Blazing Saddles" (1974). Megowan died of throat
cancer in 1981. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
