I just revisited these two films for the first time in awhile, due to the recent passing of Robert Quarry. Man, Mr. Quarry certainly made a fine and
dignified-yet-deadly vampire.
A lof of people say the sequel is better than the original. I may agree, or at the very least they're both good solid horror films. The vampire attack on the family in RETURN is still horrifying, even today. I thought the whole feel of the sequel was wonderfully dream-like in the way it was handled. The only thing about RETURN that made me wince a little is some of the stuff at the end with the two cops (one of them being Craig T Nelson) who make silly comical remarks with a "feet don't fail me now!" type of approach.
But a good time, both of these.
