With this Wolverine film coming out in 2009, Hugh Jackman emerges as the first actor to play a comic book hero in four consecutive films since Christopher Reeve as Superman.
Oddly enough, they both accomplished this in nine years (1978 to 1987 for Reeve, 2000 to 2009 for Jackman).
A few other have reprised their roles, but few have done so even three times.
Tobey Maguire might count if they make a Spider-Man IV. Other than that, the pickings are slim-Christian Bale needs to make two more films, Robert Downey, Jr. also needs two more films (as he played Tony Stark in The Incredible Hulk), Ben Affleck would need two more films as Daredevil (he filmed a dream sequence for Elektra), and so forth.
