It appears there is no love for the girls this year on Idol. No matter how good Allison may be next week she just isn't popular enough with the TV audience to last another week or two. I didn't think she deserved to be in the bottom three last night at any rate. I agree with the Cap, that if Adam wins they are going to try to mold him into something he is not and dilute his creativity. If I were him I'd intentionally have an off night and try to get the boot. Probably wouldn't work though, he is so far out in front with talent and popularity he couldn't loose if he tried. I'm starting to think maybe quiet little Kris is slowly sneaking up to overtake Danny. It may end with a Kris VS Adam smack down. Congratulations to choreographer Paula Abdul, who with that dance routine managed to make all the straight guys on the show look incredible gay. That takes talent. Cromwell

Adam was a shoo-in way too early in the competition. Did anyone really believe he got the second lowest amount of votes to place him in the bottom three? Pul-eese! He also got the cover solo of Entertainment Weekly last week. Like I said a while back "The fix is in". Watching the inevitable conclusion and false drama seems pointless. I stopped watching after Allison got eliminated. I realized then that I really can't stand Danny, Adam or Kris. All three bore me to tears, and if I had to hear Adam screech another high note again I might have considered opening a vein or two. Hey CM, how cool that you were once employed by Mickey Deans (Judy Garland's ex). In what capacity? Was he still in the night club business then. I read his book Weep No More My Lady many years ago. I'd like to re-read it again (maybe I can score a copy on eBay). Did you ever sit down and shoot the breeze with him about Judy? Any memorable stories you can relate here?

On Tuesday night, American Idol, which usually sees its audience expand in the final weeks of the contest, actually saw it fall off instead. The talent show, down to three contestants, attracted 21.79 million viewers, compared to 23.4 million for last week's "performance" show. NBC, meanwhile, the biggest loser among the four major networks, posted decent numbers with a three-hour season finale of The Biggest Loser, which averaged 11.76 million viewers. Once again, CBS was the most consistent performer throughout primetime, attracting 15.78 million viewers for NCIS despite competition from American Idol. It was followed by The Mentalist, the biggest new hit of the season, with 16.11 million and Without a Trace with 13.43 million.

Hey guys! While I did predict Kris would make the finale with Adam (back on 04/22), I still wouldn't have expected him to beat out Adam. I can't say I'm necessarily shocked, however. When Kris avoided the bottom two on "Rock week" with Slash, a week where he was mediocre at best, I knew he must have some POWERFUL voting support to have kept him in the game.
Adam seems to polarize people, you either "love him or hate him" Personally, he (and Allison) were my favorites throughout, but I could see how alot of people wouldn't "get where he's comin' from". I will agree with Captain that coming in second for Adam is no detriment to his chances of sucess whatsoever. On the other hand, a second place showing for Kris would probably mean a brief lifespan of fame, which would eventually dwindle to occasional appearances and opportunities (i.e. Bo Bice). I will also agree with the Cap that Danny Gokey's votes would have definitely shifted in Kris' direction rather than Adam's (had Allison made it to the top three, the opposite would have almost surely applied, with her audience preferring Adam)
Did anyone notice that top five contestant Matt seemed to be slighted (getting the opportunity to sing only a few solo verses of Santana's "Black Magic Woman") while lesser (or at least "eliminated earlier") contestants received bigger showcases (such as Megan, Michael Sarver, and Alexis)? On the whole, the finale (and season) was fairly entertaining (at least as much as last year, and much much more than the abysmal Jordan Sparks season) Bryan
