Apr 25 09 7:43 PM Burgomaster Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Delving into this a bit more, I ran the spammer's IP addresses through the Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) and now have all the IP address ranges assigned to each of the four service providers located in Fujian province that the spammer uses. I can now ban every IP address that the spammer could use. That said, I'd also be banning the entire customer base of those providers. The spammer would have to go through other service providers to hit us again, though I could ban the entire client base of each service provider as it becomes known to me. Since Fu Manchu might be behind this plague of spam, perhaps such draconian measures are justified. What would Nayland Smith do? GARY L. PRANGE "Sic gorgiamus allos subjectos nunc." It seems to be a case of how many potential English-speaking CHFB members we might ever have in those remote areas (1, maybe 2?) vs. how many current members were being annoyed by the constant stream of Nike spam. In the immortal words of Mr. Spock, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few... or the one."

Spammers won't be able to use that IP address on the CHFB, nor will they be able to use 100,000 other potential IP addresses. However another piece of spam deposited in the CHFB today came from a service provider in Japan. They adapt quickly. GARY L. PRANGE "Sic gorgiamus allos subjectos nunc."
