Didn't realize how long they'd been around. (Aside from gift buying at Christmas, I rarely get down the Barbie aisles.)

I have "The Birds" Barbie doll. It's very well done and a nice tribute to Tippi Hedren.
I collect some of the movie themed Barbies, like the Star Trek dolls and The Lord of the Rings dolls. True, collecting Barbies is not for everyone, but it is a fun hobby. The dolls are lovely and well made. It's more of a 'girl-thing', I guess. |

They ought to do a Barbie Suzanne Pleshette doll from the same movie.
Yes, with a missing eye.

BijouBob8mm wrote:BijouBob, here is a photo of my Barbie Lord of the Rings Set. There is also a Barbie and Ken Addams Family Morticia and Gomez set and a Christine and Phantom of the Opera Set (based on the Broadway production, I think, not the Lon Chaney movie...which would be awesome in my opinion!). A Barbie XENA would be totally cool, too! Wonder why they didn't make one of her? Enjoy!

The LOTR set looks really well done! Thanks for posting those. I would imagine the lack of a XENA set may have been a licensing issue? There were a line of
Hercules and Xena figures put out, but on a slightly smaller scale than Barbie. (I want to say 6"-8", maybe. I have a Callisto figure that someone
gave me for Christmas back then, which stands atop a "stone" base.)
