An Evening With started in 1965 which was where it was shown all in one sitting. Then in 1966 it was shown in a two sitting format (Chapter 1-8 and then 9-15). That ebay brochure is for the two-sitting format showings. Despite that brochure and posters clearly saying "Batman and Robin", it was not the 1949 serial with that title, but the 1943 serial ("Batman") with Daka that was shown in the 1966 two sitting format. One of the pages of the brochure has a photo of Daka. Prior to seeing this brochure and speaking with someone who saw the 1943 serial in the two part format, I had only seen the posters - and assumed incorrectly that they were for the 1949 serial. Hope this makes sence.... I am Doctor Daka, so I should know - right? :-) MJBare wrote: Here's a ebay listing that suggests that the release of the "Adventures" was during 1966, after the January debut of the TV series. http://cgi.ebay.com/1966-Columbia-Pictures-Batman-Robin-Serial-Brochure_W0QQitemZ120383404917QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item120383404917&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318#ebayphotohosting

At least that's how and where I saw it in, I believe, 1965. It was after the revival took off with people who came to laugh at it that it was shown in all 15 chapters as AN EVENING WITH BATMAN AND ROBIN.
What I heard was that Hugh Hefner showed the Batman serials at the Playboy mansion, where some Hollywood types saw how popular and funny the serials were with the audience and thus created the campy series. The question I have: is this just an urban legend, or how it actually happened?
